I love that I start off every month with really great intentions, yet I epically fail. I told myself at the end of August that I was going to only buy Empire of Storms in September, and then use the rest of the month to catch up on books that I have bought only to stack by my bedside.
The most obnoxious thing about this haul too, is that most of the books I bought for full price from Barnes & Noble. No Book Outlet books, or discounted Amazon books, just membership priced books from B&N. But when B&N sends you an email that says “DOUBLE DISCOUNT WEEKEND FOR MEMBERS” you go. And you go all four of those days too. (I am ashamed.) (Kind-of.)
From Barnes & Noble:
- Empire of Storms – Sarah J. Maas
- Have you seen the exclusive art work end pages of this edition?! Literally squeaked with excitement when I saw them.
- Vassa in the Night – Sarah Porter
- I really regret this one. I think it may be the book included in one of my subscription boxes this month. *le sigh*
- The Graces – Laure Eve
From Target:
- Empire of Storms – Sarah J. Maas
- I needed the exclusive fan art dust jacket okay!?
- Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo
- Target, stop with the exclusive fan art dust jackets! (Actually, don’t. Don’t ever stop.)
Blogging for Books:
- The Invoice – Jonas Karlsson
From OwlCrate:
- Three Dark Crowns – Kendare Blake
From Books on Dragonwings:
- The Reader – Traci Chee
Books Sent by Authors:
- Countryside: The Book of the Wise – JT Cope IV
- Countryside: The Tears of Adina – JT Cope IV
- Suitcase of Happyness – Mark Jaffe
- The Automation – GB Gabbler & BLA
So, overall it was a pretty great month, both reading wise and hauling wise. I would say I am going to be better at buying books in October, but I also know that next weekend I am going to buy new bookcases, and what if they are not filled up to where they look good?! Then I will most certainly have to do a Book Outlet haul at least!
How many books did you bring home this month?
Holy wow, this haul is admirable! Well, you bought Empire of Storms, so there’s that! 😉
I only got one book in September and it was a gift for the Dutch Literature Week. University took all of my money, haha. At least October is going to be better. 🙂

Well, I had 28 books in my September haul so…I understand having no restraint. I bought a few too many because of the double discount days at Barnes & Noble as well.
