November OwlCrate Unboxing!

img_6674When OwlCrate announced the last month that the November theme was going to be “Wonderland”, I sighed so heavily in disappointment.  Seriously, I am surprised my family didn’t hear it from 600 miles away.  I have never been a fan of Alice in Wonderland, and a whole box curated around this theme was sure to be a let down to people like myself right?

This month’s box may be one of my favorite OwlCrates to date!  Just when I was getting ready to unsubscribe, they lured me back in…

img_6522When I opened up this box full of wonderfulness, the first thing I pulled out was this gorgeous magnet created by Evie Bookish.  Again, I am not a huge fan of the randomness that is Alice in Wonderland, but i love this quote and I LOVE anything that Evie makes, she is so talented! this went straight on my fridge, it’s perfect.

OwlCrate teased that one of the items in November’s box was going to be created by Authored Adornments, and I figured it would be either a bookmark or a key chain of sorts.  But I was really glad to see this bookmark because it is gorgeous!   It is very sturdy and heavy, I actually have no idea if it would be too heavy for paperback books, but for hardcovers I think it would be fine.

img_6524Up next is this AMAZING tin of custom tea, made by Riddles Tea Shop c/o Adiago Teas.  OwlCrate has done a ton like this before and i thought it was utterly brilliant.  The tin itself is so adorable, I almost wouldn’t have been phased if there was no tea included!  But the tea smells so delicious, i am really glad it was!

This box actually featured two books: the book of the month, and a copy of Alice in Wonderland.  The AiW book was designed by Risa Rodill, who I have been a fan of for a long, long time, and was printed by Rock Paper Books.  It is a simple printing job, there isn’t a lot of decoration on the pages, but the cover and the back are so whimsical and perfect. img_6477

Lastly, the book that was included was Heartless by Marissa Meyer!  Not only is this book a highly anticipated book by a popular YA author, but OwlCrate subscribers received an exclusive edition with the white dust jacket.  I absolutely love exclusive items, and I think having an exclusive version of an extremely popular book is genius.  I wasn’t even that excited about the idea of this book until I held it in my hands, and then realized how gorgeous it is, so Bravo OwlCrate!

Needless to say, I didn’t unsubscribe.  And the December theme has already been announced: img_6529It is Epic!  No, really, the theme is “Epic”!  I am pretty excited because there will be items from Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, so it already sounds pretty amazing just including those epic fandoms.  I have been struggling to keep up with the books I have been receiving in my subscription boxes, which is the main reason I was considering unsubscribing, but I guess I will just have to reevaluate in 2017 if I want to continue getting these boxes… *shrugs*.

Does anyone else have this problem?  I feel like I don’t want to be left out by not receiving the box, but all of my bookish items and books are piling up being used as bookstagram props rather than their intended uses….

So, what did you all think about the November OwlCrate box?  Was it a hit, or a miss? Weigh in!

  1. I love that it included tea! You can never ever go wrong with that. 🙂 What flavour was the tea?
