Even though Christmas is right around the corner, when it comes to subscription boxes, I have always had the mentality to “treat yo’ self”. Subscription boxes are so much fun, and even if I personally had no use for some of the items, I could always find a stocking or three to slip some goodies into!
Book Boyfriend Box is a bimonthly subscription box that focuses on all of our bookish boyfriends and loves. This is a brand new book subscription box on the scene, with the December ‘Love Letters’ box being only the second one. As a rep for the company, I have received both boxes and can honestly say this one blew me away with not just the quality of the items, but with the amazing curation as well!

Mistborn Trilogy #3
I am going to just start this ‘review’ off on the weird foot by being as blunt and honest as possible: Not since reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the first time, have I had such a lasting and intense book hangover than I have been suffering since I finished The Hero of Ages. It is mid December and I have read a grand total of 76 pages so far this month. All other books just taste like ash in my mouth (figuratively speaking, I mean obviously I’m not actually eating them) and I am wondering if anything will ever live up to this series ever again…
It is really hard to review a book like this, because not only do I not want to spoil anything: I don’t even want to leave you with any HINTS. So, instead of a traditional review, I am just going to make an obnoxious list on all of the reasons why you should read the Mistborn Trilogy if you haven’t yet.

As the end of 2016 draws to a close, I have totally slacked off on my reading. Instead, I have been spending a lot of time playing games on my iPad, making the same lists over and over again, obsessively checking if our Christmas tree needs water, wandering around Target for embarrassing chunks of time, and basically not reading. This is not really
something an avid bookworm likes to admit, but hey, I’ve always been honest with you all.
I know that a decent chunk of my lack of motivation to read has to do with the holiday season and feeling frantic / stressed for 29 days straight; BUT I would be lying if I didn’t admit that the lack of reading stems from me also finishing my Goodreads 2016 reading goal over a month ago.

Sea of Ink and Gold #1
“If you’re reading this, then maybe you know you ought to read everything. And maybe you know you ought to read deeply. Because there’s witchery in these words and spellwork in the spine.”
I received this book in the September Books on Dragonwings subscription box (which you can find my review for HERE).
This was also the first book that I have ever formally read with a buddy before, and I enjoyed the whole experience! While overall the book wasn’t that great for me (more on that later) I really liked messaging Jennifer back and forth throughout the entire book. Her input on certain plot points and characters was not only helpful when I found myself confused, but also it was fun. So, thank you Jen! I loved our buddy read!

Why is FairyLoot so amazing? How do they do it?!
When the theme for November was announced, on Instagram in early October, I scheduled a reminder in my planner to hop online and purchase one as soon as they became available. “Royals & Rogues”?! “Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas”?! Count me in.
I have gotten a few FairyLoots before and have loved them infinitely, but since they are based in the U.K. and I live in the US, I never wanted to commit to a subscription because DAMN YOU SHIPPING!! The November “Royals & Rogues” box may just change my mind though…

The Bone Season #2
If you thought The Bone Season was a crazy read: well, buckle in my friends, because The Mime Order is absolute insanity. I tried, I tried so hard to not read this book in one sitting, and I succeeded somewhat! I read it in three sittings. Go me!
Reading this series though, is borderline torture. I just want to get to the end so badly, yet there are 5….FIVE books left to be published (including The Song Rising which is coming out in March 2017 THANK THE LORD). I feel so invested in this story and the characters already, and I can see this series being my next big obsession for the next decade.
What I love, and I find to be one of the more unique aspects of the Bone Season books, is that each new book picks up mere seconds after the last one ended. There is no ‘six months later’ recap, there is only non-stop action.
