I have been searching the book blog-o-sphere for new memes and prompts that I can incorporate into a weekly lineup to just make blogging at little more interesting. And I have learned that if you ask The Google Machine anything, anything at all, you will receive.
So, when I asked for “book blogging memes for Sundays” I was handsomely rewarded with discovering The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is such a wonderful meme because I have been searching fora way / excuse to be more personal in my blogging journey, to be more interactive with the people that read my words and opinions, and in turn discover more amazing people in the book universe.
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and it is a chance to share: news. This is a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things you may have received, and maybe talk about what is coming up for the week on your blog. (To be honest, I don’t even know what I have planned for the coming week so sharing that info with you seems a little…premature.)
Anyways, enough jibber jabber and let’s get to it!
January has been a whirlwind. It seems that every waking second was filled with some sort of plan. While usually I use the weekends to decompress and get some reading done, I went to visit my mom in Arizona last weekend, so I am all thrown off. We got to do one of those escape rooms (so much fun!) and a self guided walking tour of downtown Tucson that was way more interesting than I had anticipated. While it was a really short trip, it was wonderful to see some family that I don’t get to see that often, and of course enjoy the warmness that Tucson never fails to deliver on.
We also discovered a little waffle shop near our apartment this weekend that was such a treat to visit! I am a total foodie, and the cast-iron Belgian style waffles did not disappoint. Is this necessary information to share with you all? No, probably not. I just really wanted an excuse to show off this amazing waffle. NOM.
Also, this is totally random, but I have started watching Twin Peaks with the boyfriend, and I am kind of obsessed? The first episode had me intrigued, but the further we get into the season, the more I love the whole aesthetic and vibe of the show. Oh, and I have a not so mild crush on Special Agent Dale Cooper. *swoons*
Lastly, I am so, SO excited to share that I was chosen to be a rep for an awesome bookish candle company Seven Hearts Wax! My love for book candles is endless, and I am seriously looking forward to the next three months of working with Rachel and her other awesome reps on some great candle ideas!
I was a reading machine at the beginning of the month and have since petered out. (Don’t you hate that feeling?!) So, at the moment I am kind of going back and forth between two books: The Bear and The Nightingale, as well as Passenger. I am enjoying both of them so far, I am just lacking the basic motivation to sit down and really plow through one completely. My nightstand was just looking so pretty the only morning we had sunshine in North Carolina this week, and I had to snap a picture. This basically sums up my life: too many books, and too many candles.
While I really haven’t posted that much in the past week, check out my post of “random flailings and definitely cannot be classified as a review” of The Song Rising HERE and my actual review of the book Scythe HERE!
I mean, honestly, who doesn’t love looking at pretty pictures of books? Check out my latest pictures on Bookstagram:
