Happy Sunday book friends! I have been mildly absent from my blog (again) and this time I really don’t have a valid excuse other than blogging is so dang HARD!
So to fill in some of my absence, I thought it would be a good idea to revisit The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and is a chance to share some weekly news. This is where I will recap the past week or so, showcase some books and other things I have received, and maybe talk about what is coming up for the week on my blog. (Haven’t decided on this portion yet so let’s see where this post takes us!)
My book loving sister came to town to visit me for the Fourth of July weekend, so naturally we took an unnecessary trip to Barnes & Noble. It wasn’t enough to just walk around and be content among all the pretty books, we needed to complete the experience by purchasing some too. (Hey, in my defense, its been a while since I have book shopped with my sissy, so it was much-needed.)
Instead of picking out a bunch of different books, we each got a copy of two books that we are going to try to buddy read together! I really like this idea of having a sisterly type book club thing, it gives us more to talk about then just candles and Instagram (and trust me, we talk multiple times day so we definitely need more topics of conversation.)
So anyways, we grabbed WANT and Stalking Jack the Ripper, both which I have heard fantastic things about! I am excited to work these in to our TBR sooner rather than later, and if anyone wants to join our sister themed book club, let us know!
Per usual, my currently reading is a mess. I just finished This is Really Happening, a book sent to me by Penguin Teen that I enjoyed a lot (review coming soon!) and I started Library of Fates last night while I was in the tub.
And then on top of that, I am buddy reading Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, with my BFF Isabel, but I haven’t gotten to the point in the book where I can’t stop reading you know? Like when I pick it up, I enjoy it, but once I set it back down I let too much time pass before reading again.
Oh well.
Lastly, I am listening to an alien / space opera / sci-fi / comedy called Spec-Ops, that is huge, but is a fun listen. I really like the narrator, and the characters are so ridiculous that at times I am reminded a lot of Hitchhiker’s Guide. But damn, the book is so long it will take me a whole month to listen to it.
I have been kind of absent on blogging too (BLOGGING IS SO HARD OMG) but I did whip up another “It’s All in the De-tales” post that may be my favorite one so far! Click HERE to ogle The Bone Season series in all its naked glory.
You all should know by now too that I LOVEEEE talking about sci-fi, so I recently made my Top 5 Tuesday prompt to be: “5 Sci-Fi Books That I Have Recently Added to My TBR” and oh boy, there are some good ones on the list. Check it out right HERE!
And, finally, my boyfriend and I are moving relatively soon, so I put together a post about some books that I have for sale that you can check out HERE !
I am really working on not letting the number of likes that I receive on my pictures bother me. Post what you want to post! Post what makes you happy!
So, not much is happening lately. There aren’t any awesome movies I am stoked for, July is kind of a boring book month, and I have basically done all my travelling for the year already.
But, and I know this sounds slightly vain, but whenever I am feeling down, I have been going back to look at this picture that I took when Nick and I went to Harry Potter World with my family a couple of weeks ago.
Isnt it amazing?! First of all, the iPhone 7 Plus camera is phenomenal. Secondly, I am in love with Diagon Alley, and I love the Diagon Alley on the book cover is almost a perfect match to the one I am standing in. Harry Potter World is always filled with tears for me, and this instance was no exception.
And, that’s all I got for you today! I hope your Sunday is filled with happy reading and relaxing times!
I just heard about Library of Fates. Is it any good so far?

Ahhhh okay! Maybe I should pass on that instead in favor of other bookish books! I need to resurrect my own Sunday post!

Heey, I totally feel you! As much as I want to, I also want my blog to be always updated but yeah, it was so hard… I checked your post about the book sale. Too bad, Lux Beginnings was already taken.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as an unnecessary Barnes & Noble trip.
