There is so much to consider when picking up a book if you are judging it how it looks: the cover yes, but also the spine details, the back cover, the pages (are they deckled?! are they sprayed?!), the title pages, the chapter headers, the naked spine, the naked hardcover, and I could go on and on and on…
Based on all of these factors, I thought it would be fun to start a blog meme, which I am so fondly calling, “It’s All in the De-Tales”. This is not necessarily a book ‘review’, although you could say its a review based on physical properties and has nothing to do with what is on the inside!
So for this third edition of “It’s All in the De-Tales” I thought it would be fun to do one of my favorite incomplete series, one which I picked up several years ago specifically because I loved how the book looked without the dust jacket on.

Happy Sunday book friends! I have been mildly absent from my blog which can be attributed to two things mainly. One, I had an amazing reading month. I will get into that later this week, but I was PLOWING through books, and every spare second of my time was spent reading. Also, because my dang boyfriend has totally been hogging the computer with his games. *le sigh* boyfriends amirite?
So to fill in some of my absence, I thought it would be a good idea to revisit The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and is a chance to share some weekly news. This is where I will recap the past week or so, showcase some books and other things I have received, and maybe talk about what is coming up for the week on my blog. (Haven’t decided on this portion yet so let’s see where this post takes us!)

I have been concocting this in my head for months now and finally decided it was time to put “the pen to paper” so to say.

I judge it on so much more than that (although admittingly yes, I do still pick up books based on the way it looks so, I guess the saying is still relative here).
There is so much to consider when picking up a book based on how it looks: the cover yes, but also the spine details, the back cover, the pages (are they deckled?! are they sprayed?!), the title pages, the chapter headers, the naked spine, the naked hardcover, and I could go on and on because I just love all of the aspects and characteristics that go into making a book beautiful and unique.
